Question 1

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No sign-up, no ads, no limits on how many people click a link. To keep it fair for everyone there is a limit on how many links one person can make in an hour.

Question 2

How long does a short link last?

Accepted Answer

A link expires after 12 months with no visits. Every visit pushes the date out by another 12 months.

Question 3

Do you track who clicks?

Accepted Answer

No. We keep one number per link, the total clicks. We do not store who clicked, from where, or on what device.

Question 4

What links are not allowed?

Accepted Answer

Links to scams, phishing, malware, spam or anything illegal. Links that point back to this site or to other link shorteners are also refused. Links can be removed at any time.

Question 5

Can I see where a short link goes before opening it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add a plus sign before the code, like shrtrly.in/+abc1234, to see the destination first.
